About the Battalion
History and Formation
The 162nd Territorial Defense Battalion is a stronghold of security and stability in the Chernihiv region. Established as part of the 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, it plays a crucial role in defending the region and is prepared to undertake any mission within Ukraine's defense framework.
Since February 24, 2022, during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, thousands of volunteers have joined the Territorial Defense Forces of the Chernihiv region. The 119th Brigade played a vital role in defending Chernihiv and its surrounding areas, engaging in heavy battles in locations such as Novoselivka, Shestovytsia, Yahidne, Lukashivka, and the outskirts of Chernihiv.
Strength and Endurance
The personnel of the battalion undergo intensive training to effectively counter threats and ensure the safety of civilians.
Strategic Location
Based in Sedniv, the battalion plays a key role in defending the northern front.
Readiness for Action
The 162nd Battalion ensures mobility and flexibility in responding to wartime challenges by conducting reconnaissance, patrolling, and special operations.
